IN A GOOD NATURE
Natural mechanism to decompose animal wastes and dead organisms year after year if the environmental condition is sustainable.
1st Stage: Ammonia NH3 (waste) is oxidized to nitrite (NO2-) by microbes with oxygen. NO2- is very toxic and chemically instable and further oxidized to nitrate NO3-.
2nd Stage: Nitrate is less toxic and finally reduced by anaerobic bacteria to Nitrogen (N2) and water.

CARTRIDGE FUNCTION GUIDE

PROCESS: Physical/
Mechanical
Remove foreign materials

PROCESS: Physical
/Mechanical
Remove foreign/decomposed material

PROCESS: Biological
conversion of nitrates to non-toxic nitrogen gas with anaerobic bacteria.

PROCESS: Biological/
Chemical Conversion
Nitrifying and deoxygenating ammonia/fish waste to convert highly toxic nitrite and then lesser toxic nitrates.

PROCESS: Physical/
Chemical Conversion
Anaerobic bacteria converts nitrates to non-toxic nitrogen. (Oxygen free environment)

PROCESS: Temporally Physical/Chemical/
Mechanical
Charcoal filter functions to remove foreign materials, mal-odor, adsorbing unwanted substances.
